for those of you who don’t know, I have an obsession with Lucite things. A pretty absurd obsession. I have Lucite barstools in my kitchen, a really amazing Lucite candelabra courtesy of Boyfriend’s mom, Lucite silverware (a wedding shower gift to my parents now finding its way into their child’s kitchen- I love it), Lucite jewelry boxes (how else will I see what’s inside?), the list goes on and on.
Visual space is pretty important when you live in an apartment the size of mine (330 sq ft. tiny studio)- so I find that clear/mirrored things really help with that.
I had no idea about the history of Lucite purses in the 50s- I just admired them from afar- until my darling friend Kim emailed me this article. Amazing.
